Novus World turns your everyday spending into a force for good

Novus built a financial app and payment card designed to connect everyday spending with social and environmental causes. Users could follow the estimated carbon footprint of their purchases, support causes through in-app rewards and discover brands through a marketplace focused on more conscious consumption.

The product brought these features into the same place as everyday payment activity, making impact part of the experience rather than a separate task. In March 2024, Novus was acquired by payments company Paynetics, which described the combination as a way to extend its environmental and social offering. Novus illustrates an approach to consumer finance that puts spending decisions and the causes people care about alongside one another.
