Cognee raises $1.5 million in pre-seed funding to build AI memory

Cognee has raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding to make data easier to use in AI applications. Combination Ventures is backing the company alongside 42CAP and Angel Invest, with angel investors including Bob van Luijt and Alexander Dean.

Building useful AI applications depends on more than a capable language model. The information behind it needs to be organised and accessible. Cognee’s AI memory engine turns raw data into structured memories, helping language models produce more reliable and accurate responses.

Co-founders Vasilije Markovic and Boris Arzentar plan to use the funding to expand the team and advance the product. The ambition is to simplify AI data management while making it more scalable and cost-effective. Cognee announcement
