Cognee raises $7.5 million to give AI agents lasting memory
The seed round will help our portfolio company turn fragmented information into structured memory for AI applications.

Cognee has raised $7.5 million in seed funding, led by Pebblebed, with participation from 42CAP, Vermilion Ventures and angel investors from Google DeepMind, n8n and Snowplow.
For AI agents to be useful beyond a single conversation, they need access to information they can retain, connect and retrieve. Cognee addresses that challenge with an open-source memory engine that turns scattered data into structured knowledge. It gives developers a foundation for building applications that can carry context from one interaction to the next.
The new funding will support Cognee’s cloud platform, research into cognitive memory and further development of its open-source technology. The team also plans to bring its memory engine to local and on-device applications.
We’re excited to see Cognee tackle one of the practical challenges of building useful AI: helping agents remember what matters.
