Backing Helio to make better use of cloud capacity
We’ve invested in Helio’s seed round, supporting Kevin Häfeli and Christoph Buchli as they build software to use computing resources more efficiently.

We’ve invested in Helio, joining its seed equity round led by QBIT Capital alongside Uebermorgen Ventures, seed+speed Ventures, Rockstart and other investors. The broader €4.9 million financing package combines equity with debt provided by Zürcher Kantonalbank and backed by the Swiss Technology Fund.
Founded by Kevin Häfeli and Christoph Buchli, the Zurich-based company develops software that directs computing workloads towards available data-centre capacity, taking energy use and carbon intensity into account.
We see an opportunity to get more value from computing infrastructure by improving where and when workloads run. Helio’s approach connects that question with the needs of customers running demanding tasks such as 3D rendering.
The team plans to expand its data-centre network, improve carbon-aware scheduling and develop its rendering capabilities. We’re pleased to support Kevin and Christoph as they build a more efficient way to deliver cloud computing.
